The Smashing Pumpkins es una banda con origen estadounidense (Chicago, Illinois) del genero Rock alternativo iniciado en el año 1988 el grupo esta conformado por Billy Corgan , Jimmy Chamberlin, Jeff Schroeder.
Curiosidades: Repudiando las raíces musicales de punk rock de muchos contemporáneos del rock alternativo, los Pumpkins tienen un sonido diverso, densamente escalonado y pesado que se adhiere a un punk influido en filosofía en términos de entrega musical, que contiene elementos de rock gótico, heavy metal, dream pop, rock psicodélico, rock progresivo, shoegazing y electrónica en sus últimas grabaciones.
